Una zona intangible - The intangible zone

CONSERVATE. ¡CONSERVANOS!

Villarino's district belongs to the Espinal Phytogeographic Province and is a distinctly agricultural-livestock district. Most of the lands present some degree of anthropic modification either by clearing, to gain land for cattle, or for the establishment of crops. The final result of this type of modification of the territory is the fragmentation of the same with a high level of anthropic pressure for the natural habitat. This is the dominant condition in the party.
But there is a place within the district of Villarino different from the others. A place where the conscience for the environment is present and that shows us that it is possible a coexistence between the human and its economic activities and the ecosystem that surrounds it. This place is called Marahue (which in Mapuche means "where there are maras"). In addition to the livestock activities that are carried out in this ranch, there is a portion of land that the owners protect avoiding their modification. The intangible zone, as the owners call it, is an area of dense forest that tries to preserve the characteristics of the original habitat of the region.
Hunting is prohibited throughout the ranch and this makes Marahue a unique place for watching wildlife, in addition to the numerous native plant species. What if we all propose to protect a part of what belongs to us? What if we all contribute from our place to conservation? KEEP IT. KEEP US!
