Esperando la próxima campaña - Waiting for the next campaign

¡Hola a todos! En estas semanas empezamos a ordenar los datos recolectados durante la última campaña. El área de estudio de este verano posee una extensión total de 283,78 km2. Los principales ambientes que componen esta zona y sus respectivas superficies, son: 

Hello everyone! In these weeks we began to sort the data collected during the last campaign. This summer's study area has a total area of 283.78 km2. The main environments that make up this area and their respective surfaces are:

Durante estos meses colocamos 16 sitios de trampas fotográficas. En cada sitio había 2 cámaras enfrentadas entre si. La distancia máxima entre los sitios fue de 5 km y las cámaras se distribuyeron en los en los siguientes ambientes: Monte, Cultivos y Pastizales. 

During these months we placed 16 sites of camera traps. In each site there were 2 cameras facing each other. The maximum distance between the sites was 5 km and the cameras were distributed in the following environments: Mount, Crops and Pastures.

Obtuvimos numerosos eventos de pumas en 11 de 16 estaciones de trampeo. Actualmente, además de empezar a analizar los datos recolectados, estamos organizando la próxima campaña para este invierno. Los objetivos serán los mismos pero el área de estudio se extenderá, lo cual nos permitirá de obtener (¡esperamos!) un mayor número de capturas de puma y de colección de datos de presencia. 

We obtained numerous cougar (puma) events in 11 of 16 trapping stations. Currently, in addition to starting to analyze the data collected, we are organizing the next campaign for this winter. The objectives will be the same but the study area will be extended, which will allow us to obtain (we hope!) a greater number of cougar catches and collection of presence data.
