Our new virtual space– Nuestro nuevo espacio virtual: Protectores en la Patagonia

 Somos un grupo de profesionales pertenecientes a diferentes instituciones, que nos reunimos con el objetivo de promover el uso responsable de perros protectores de ganado (PPG) en Argentina y, particularmente, en la Patagonia. Ante el creciente interés que están despertando los PPG a lo largo y ancho del país, queremos aportar la experiencia de nuestras instituciones para acompañar a todos los productores interesados en este apasionante desafío: mitigar la depredación empleando prácticas amigables con la biodiversidad.

En este espacio podrán encontrar información técnica, hacer consultas y recibir notificaciones sobre jornadas de capacitación. Sin embargo una de nuestras mayores pretensiones, es que este espacio sirva como medio para que los productores puedan transmitir sus propias experiencias. “Protectores en la Patagonia” es un espacio que aspira a que sus protagonistas sean los PPG, los productores ganaderos y la fauna nativa de nuestra Patagonia.

Esta iniciativa es llevada adelante por el INTA, el Grupo de Investigaciones en Biología de la Conservación (GRINBIC-INIBIOMA-CONICET) y el Programa Patagonia de Aves Argentinas.

We are a group of professionals belonging to different institutions, who meet with the objective of promoting the responsible use of livestock protection dogs (PPG) in Argentina and, particularly, in Patagonia. Given the growing interest that PPGs are awakening throughout the country, we want to contribute the experience of our institutions to accompany all producers interested in this exciting challenge: mitigating predation using practices that are biodiversity-friendly.

In this space you will be able to find technical information, make inquiries and receive notifications about training sessions. However, one of our greatest claims is that this space serves as a means for producers to transmit their own experiences. “Protectores en la Patagonia” is a space that aspires that its protagonists are the PPG, livestock producers and the native fauna of our Patagonia.

This initiative is carried out by INTA, the Conservation Biology Research Group (GRINBIC-INIBIOMA-CONICET) and the Patagonia Program for Argentine Birds.
